About TOFs

TOFs is a multi-talented Nigerian recording artist, songwriter and rapper widely acclaimed for his thrilling RnB vocals and Afro-drill sound. Sanni Dhikrulah Olaniyi popularly known by his stage name, TOFs, was born June 9, 1991, in the cradle of indigenous contemporary rap- Bariga, Lagos State, Nigeria. 

 

He is a multi-talented Nigerian recording artist, songwriter and rapper widely acclaimed for his thrilling Afro Swing and indigenous rap style. The Kwara State native developed a flair for music by following the rise of local Afro-beat & trap/drill legends such as Gucci Mane, Migos, Burna Boy and Davido. His early absorption of sounds from artists like Dagrin, Olamide, Skepta, Stormzy, Tory Lanez, Tupac Shakur, Illbliss, Mode 9, Bobby Cadwell, and Fela amongst many others motivated his signature sound of Afro-swing. 

 

TOFs shot into the professional limelight in 2019 with his first single “FATASI” which proved to be his breakout track and inspired his next single, BAMISE ft Seyi Vibez in 2019.

Through the five-song EP, TOFs tells the story of a resilient black man living the successful uber life, balling and grinding hard at the same time. The theme revolves around his humble beginnings from the streets of Lagos to Johannesburg mirroring his struggles and triumphs in a creatively fun and groovy fashion. “Music is life, heritage and energy,” TOFs remarked at the listening party of his EP. “It should strongly communicate our past, the present and a hopeful future. Music should open your eyes to life’s realities and galvanize you to affirmative action. This is something I wanted to achieve with this EP”. The five-song EP features the previously released single “Militia”, an addictive afro-fusion banger ft CDQ, Other tracks include Juru, Rock your Body, VIP and Crypto Money with collaborations from Soft, Psycho YP, and Wonder. The lead single, “Juru” produced by Egarboi launches with an afro-Caribbean intro and leans in softly into TOFs RnB signature. Here, he makes a resolute plea to his woman to remain steady and confident as his commitment to her remains unwavering. From reggae to jazz, Juru blends the Afro beat element to portray the multidimensional power of Afrobeats.
